Jaggy Nettle
Based in the Scottish Borders, Jaggy Nettle are a contemporary Scottish fashion label, that us Scots should be shouting about! Their collection is mostly made up of beautiful soft cashmere jumpers with hand printed designs, incredible unisex -Japanese sourced- denim jeans, and tweed/leather biker jackets. They have also collaborated with Harris Tweed and produced some fantastic unisex desert boot/high top shoes.
Scotland's very own fashionistas, Kingdom of Style Bloggers, Michelle and Marie are big fans, here is Queen Michelle trying out their unisex jeans.
We think Jaggy Nettle describe themseleves best..... in their own words:
"It’s about designing and refining a silhouette to perfection.
It’s not about seasonality or trends.
It’s about making the best jeans in the world.
It’s about Scottish Cashmere.
And Tweed.
And print.
It’s not about half V’s or tapered trousers.
Or beards.
Its about bespoke, hand made, heritage, 100%, tradition, ltd edition, Made in UK, Made in Japan, pure, hand stitched, hand signed, hand numbered.
Not about 40,000 of this and 70,000 of that at 80p a unit.
£28.99 retail on the High Street the following Wednesday.
Not about that. Super clones.
Not about morphing into a country gent over night.
It’s about perspective.
About keeping your head up.
Its not about what it’s about.
It’s about what it is."
Check them out!

CNN’s Top Travel Destination
The renowned and highly regarded American news moguls *cough cough* CNN have recently accredited Scotland as their top Travel Destination for 2013. Scotland’s natural beauty helped fend off competition from Morocco, Slovakia and Sub-Saharan Africa to win the top spot.
2013 is the ‘Year of Natural Scotland’, and this accolade seems to have played quite a role in pushing Scotland as a top destination. More specifically the incredibly scenic and spectacular Gore-Tex Scottish National Trail which is Scotland’s longest walking route. The 470-mile walk trail takes you from the English Border all the way to the northern Highlands.
Thank's CNN and we hope to bump into you on the Gore-Tex Trail!

Easing into Christmas
With only a couple of days left of work, the LocSco team are beginning to slow down in preparation for the Christmas Holidays!
The LocSco team were busy last week and early this week location scouting, casting and producing a shoot for Guinness Rugby, under the 6 Nations Campaign. It must be said, it was a tough few days in the studio, casting rugby players, but somebody’s gotta do it!
The shoot was a great success, and it has been brilliant to be location scouting and producing for clients right up until the end of the year!
For now, there is a bit of down time.... Mich here has been playing the Leith Agencies Christmas Space Invaders game online. Be warned it’s mighty addictive! Have a shot yersel’ and be in with a chance to win a Leith Agency festive Christmas jumper!

Christmas in Edinburgh
This beautiful snowy Edinburgh scene was shot by Jarod Carruthers back in 2010.
It certainly puts us all in the festive spirit, perfect timing really......as the Edinburgh Christmas Lights are being switched on tonight, whilst the German Market and Ice Rink open their doors to the general public.
We can't wait to get up there and have a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie!

Cambolicious 2012 The East Neuk Craft Beer & Cider Festival
We got all wrapped up and headed along for Cambolicious Beer & Cider Festival on Saturday at Cambo Estate, it was a difficult feat but think we managed to taste all 21 different tipples on offer, that would explain the sore head on Sunday morning...
Everyone cared for their Cambolicious glass as if their lives depended on it, wouldn't you if you knew you wouldn't get a beer without one?! Live music acts were brilliant, food was super tasty and we all felt all warm and cozy with all the festive fairy lights everywhere...or was it because of all that beer & cider we consumed?
1st Cambolicious - done. Due to popular demand, the 2nd Cambolicious is already being planned for next Spring/Summer, like the page on fb here and you can follow the updates to be sure to not miss the next one!

Tatler Magazine
Look what the postman delivered this morning, the December issue of Tatler Magazine....Hurrah!
We immediately turned to the fashion pages and to scope out 'Move over, Highlander', which was produced and location scouted by Location Scotland.
The models may be fiercely wrapped up for winter, but the shoot actually took place in the midst of a hot Scottish summers day. The Tatler team were a delight to work with and we are in love with the styling and end results of the shoot!

Godiva
Godiva's owner, Fleur Macintosh has come a long way, since opening almost 10 years ago as a small second hand store in the cities Westport. Since 2003 she has created a huge fashion collective celebrating unique, vintage and high quality fashion choices. She embraces recent graduates and their designs, holds no pretensions about fashion and is always a friendly face in Edinburgh. For this, we love Godiva.
It has just been announced that Godiva, one of Edinburgh's leading independent fashion boutiques, now has an online store. The site will showcase hand-made independent designs by local designers including our fav, Rowan Joy and UK wide designers from Leeds, Manchester, Brighton and London! How's that for choice?!
The LocSco team have admittedly fallen in love with the numerous coloured scarves, ideal for keeping us warm on those chilly photoshoots. Now we can shop from the ease of our studio chairs, great news for us... bad news for our bank balances.
Watch their A/W 2012 collection here.

Mister Castro’s Adventures
A couple of months ago, thanks to the wonders of the Twittersphere world, Location Scotland became aware of Mister Dan Castro and his very cool animation and general all round fantastic creative-ness.
What really caught our eye was his film, Castro Goes Kiwi. With a disregard for travel guides Dan decided to campervan around New Zealand by asking his Twitter and Facebook followers to suggest where to go and what to do! As you can imagine, this led to a very unique and memorable Kiwi trip.
Dan now has his sights set on a new adventure….. in Scotland! He just sent through a snippet of his Scottish script. Looking forward to seeing what comes next!
