Out on shoot!

Out on shoot!

It’s all going off in Bonnie Scotland this month! Shoot enquiries have been coming in thick and fast, from all corners of the globe and from various industries; car shoots looking for epic Scottish roads, beauty clients requesting grand estates and fashion catalogues location scouting for dramatic Scottish scenery!

The LoSco production team have been working day and night for the past few weeks on various production jobs. In addition to our own in-house production crew working out on location we have been sending our pool of freelance producers out on set too. Our behind the scenes film crew have been working their socks off, driving to last minute shoot locations so we can edit together a LoSco behind the scenes film for you all!

Here is a picture on location, from our shoot on Friday! Glorious sun shine, stunning location= happy cients….

Incredible virtual Grand Tour of NYC

Incredible virtual Grand Tour of NYC

This incredible photographic feat was created by Sergy Semenov using thousands of snaps of NYC, stitched together from helicopter tours during the summer of 2011.

He has created the world’s first virtual photo tour. There are quite a few handy facts about Manhatten, and a couple of quirky nosy snaps into peoples’ windows!

Have a look on his website for your very on free tour of New York….

Our discovery of this tour is perfect timing, as Team LoSco are off to attend Le Book in NYC for the first week in June.

Marc Jacobs and the kilt

Marc Jacobs and the kilt

We thought we’d dedicate today’s blog to a man who has promoted the kilt outside of Scotland on multiple occasions.

Marc Jacobs, designer, has been known to wear a kilt for closing bows following shows (when he's not wearing pyjamas, that is), on the red carpet and even in the new Diet Coke adverts.

Now... Will you be donning yours?

Shoot Time!

Shoot Time!

Team LoSco are gearing up for a shoot that’s taking place later this week. Our busy season is really kicking in now and it's a case of all production hands on deck!

The team have been busy location scouting, casting and gathering props for the shoot. Exciting times!

We have been putting together some very special production goody bags for this weeks shoot, including some Sheep Dip whisky and Edinburgh Gin.

Sheep Dip is an unusual name for whisky, however there is a very clever story behind the thought.... The name comes from a time when farmers hid their home made whisky from the excise officers in barrels marked 'Sheep Dip." The whisky has been masterfully crafted by Richard Paterson who has selected 16 single malts fom the 4 traditional malt whisky regions, aged between 8 and 21 years, all married togther in a fresh American oak barrel!

Sounds delicious!

Le Book Event Day 2

Le Book Event Day 2

Our second day at Le Book was another great success! We also welcomed ex-Parisian Meriel Bunney Gillies, our Creative Assistant to our Le Book team. Meriel studied in Paris as part of her degree and as you can imagine her fluent French was mighty helpful!

The day kicked off with a busy start, we had numerous visitors to our LoSco area, with representatives from Louis Vuitton, VB, Chloé, and Zara Home! We could hardly contain our excitment....It was an even busier day than the previous and we met a wealth of fantastic contacts, from French fashion houses to Parisian production companies.

It was a great feeling to hear how well received our work for editorial and advertising shoots were viewed in Paris. We hope everyone we met now knows a lot more about Scotland and all that we can offer!

We were the last to leave the event, by 9.30pm that night! This was pretty much down to the team’s chatter box behavior and new found friends at Germain Walker and Container One!

We look forward to seeing you all again in NYC, only 5 weeks away!

Le Book Event Day 1

Le Book Event Day 1

We arrived bright and breezy for an early start, by French standards that’s is, at 9am! The Le Book venue was luckily right bang in the city center, on Boulevard des Italiens in the Opera District.

Raring to ‘connect’ and show off all our lovely locations and work we set up our stall and said hello to the various faces we had met at previous Le Book events in the past.
Doors opened at 12pm and we had a very busy day, meeting creative directors, photographer agents, fashion houses and production companies. Our Scottish locations were really popular, with many people not realising that we offer industrial, shabby chic, modern, and unusual locations, as well as beautiful landscapes and castles!

It was a long and successful first day, finishing up at 9pm. After the day’s hard work was finito, attendees were invited to an after party at David Lynch’s exclusive club for an evening of free cocktails and music by a group of talented local hipsters ….

Paris: Le Book

Paris: Le Book

It was an early rise on Monday morning and a prompt pow wow at Edinburgh Airport before we flew off to Charles de Gaulle. Luckily there was a chauffer and luxury Mercedes awaiting our arrival, so we were quickly whisked off into central Paris.

After unpacking we sat down for a ‘working lunch’ of baguettes, French fromage and Le Book research.

Staying on Rue Saint Honore, a street lined with designer stores and incredible patisseries, we were pretty much in heaven! We found our new favourite concept store, Collete which sold beautiful books, amazing shoes, funky t-shirts and super cool sunnies. It was here that we found our latest production for  Style.com and our first editorial front cover. There was even a water bar downstairs for some chic Parisian thirst quenching.....

In the evening we met up with honorary Parisian producer John Fanning who showed us around The Louvre and how to dine Parisian style.
